It’s happened! There’s no turning back now! It’s full speed ahead.

My network has grown to the point where I can’t follow it like I used to. It’s grown to 344 on Facebook & 309 on Twitter. And like the kitten, it’s time to readjust.

Beth Kanter asked me awhile ago about how I manage my networks. The big picture is a matter of time management & choices.

My use of Twitter has greatly changed. Twitter now stays closed during my work day. I used to be able to scan all pages & then open posted links. But now, I scan the most recent two pages & then will click on a certain person’s name to read their posts. I miss the small network of about 100. It’s interesting to me that I’m still connecting with the same people in the same way there.

Facebook always amazes me. The networking & options to participate in groups is endless! People from around the world come up in my friend requests. It makes for an interesting mix! But I haven’t been spending as much time as I used to there either.

My best suggestion is to ask yourself:

  • What social networks are giving you value & are relevant?
  • Where does spending time make sense for your needs?
  • And are you enjoying the interactions & learning?

My guess is that the answers are going to be different for everyone. I’m working to find a mix that works for me. Please share your ideas!
