My good friend Shashi (and new social media guy at his company) tagged me on this meme that’s moving around.

Here we go: Eight Things You Didn’t Know About Me

1. I was born further north than where I live now in Minnesota. So I speak fluent Canadian.

2. In high school when I asked questions my teachers would say "can you wait, we’re going to talk about that in a few days." (I was probably a pain).

3. In college I completed a double major in math & physical sciences in 3 years. Organic chemistry was one of my favorite classes along with the calculus series. But physics challenged my thoughts about engineering.

4. My first career was in law enforcement. I carried a .357 pistol as a Customs Inspector. I did NOT like shooting the shotgun. (I don’t target shoot or hunt now).

5. My favorite color is orange. I have as many different types of orange flowers as possible in my gardens. My new luggage came today & it suits me! So if you see a lady in the airport struggling with too much orange luggage – it will be me!

6. I have been married for over 21 years. My husband is a Conservation Officer & works for the State of Minnesota. We met when I was working part time as a dispatcher/jailor at the local Sheriff’s Office.

7. Our daughter is a freshman college. She has a boyfriend who brought a kitten here that didn’t leave. So we’re up to two kids, 4 cats, & 2 dogs.

8. In the summer I grow lots of flowers. Every spring I’m totally amazed that the plants can survive the harsh winter & having been dormant for 6 months. (I don’t grow anything practical like vegetables.)
