I happened upon a meme-like post at social media snackers. And just yesterday someone asked about Evernote on Twitter so it must be time to talk about my favorite social media tools again.
My top 10 tools & platforms are:
- Livewriter (am blogging in it as I type!) — update on Livewriter features
- Evernote – the most awesome desktop organizational tool ever! I live by it
- Facebook – my networking lifeline (I have a profile/resume in LinkedIn but…Facebook is far more useful)
- Twitter – where I have ‘face-to-face’ conversations with my friends :)
- Skype is becoming more important
- Copernic – desktop search tool allows me to find email & files fast
- WordPress brings you this blog
- Digsby is a great chat aggregator – love talking to Facebook friends!
- Snag-it totally rocks for screenshots! & blogging
- Google alerts for brand monitoring

1) Google Docs (love the sharing in real time)
2) MSN Video conferencing (am on daily)
3) Evernote (so cool! I have only just begun playing with this, would love to get tips)
4) Jott (so great!)
5) Typepad (my blog)
6) Google alerts (for me, my company, my interests…)
7) Hello (so sad it is being discontinued – used it to share web shots and screen captures)
8) LinkedIn (networking)
9) and 10) Twitter and facebook for procrastinating!!
I’d add:
– compfight.com for great images for posts and presentations
– Ecto for multiple blog platform editing (Mac)
– Skitch for screen captures, image editing and even logo design (Mac)
– Jing for easy screen recording (but no editing) and screen captures (Mac/Win)
– ComicLife (Mac) for a great fun way to communicate in presentations and blog posts
– Picturesque (Mac) for adding Apple-style perspective, reflection and drop shadows to images
– De.licio.us is my preferred way to keep track of web resources I want to blog about later
– Google Apps – its free IMAP email management is fantastic

Most of my faves have been listed. But I have to add two more.
Summize – great for finding and listening to Twitter conversations. I’ve used it to find many new Twitter friends. Great for brand tracking too.
OneNote – I love Onenote and do everything in there from drafting blog posts, reports and plans to emails. I often take screencaps from Summize, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, and other sites – compile it in OneNote and then email to share with teams internally. We use the shared folders *a lot* internally to collaborate on my team.
Great lists – can’t wait to see other tools people use. I’m always looking for new ones!

Twitter and Facebook are, in my opinion the two biggest forms of social media. Starting of on social media can seem like a daunting task, however once connected it is difficult to stop . Some, like myself feel that facebook is easier to use, whereas others would say twitter is easier.
