In addition, I’d strongly suggest that people who want to be community managers (and get paid for it) take the time to actually be involved in at least one community before applying to a job. It’s best to volunteer for a group you’re not personally invested in, because there is a big difference between working for yourself and working for others. Offering to help a local blog group, or industry function, will give you the skills (and something on your resume) to be successful in the next position
