Connie: If you don't post another blog for the next month, you are good! Just let this one sit on the main page so everyone will have a chance to read these words and soak them in. This is an excellent post that provides insight into a world that most people deem glamorous without knowing all the facts and great ideas about how to move forward and be of value in your current organization. I am certainly beginning to use what I am learning through my extended social media to help my employer get a better understanding of some of the strategies we could employ. This is great advice and i agree 100%.

Connie -

You make some great points! I was laid off in January of 2008 and have been doing consulting work ever since - I also have some unpaid invoices, which I just read yesterday may be deductible against my 49% :)

Anyway- you have inspired me. I have recently been talking to some folks about some full-time opportunities, and I am going to design a role for myself and submit it to them as part of the ongoing dialogue.
