Connie, you should take a look at Microsoft Producer. It allows you t combine a presentation and a video of the presenter into one video file. (only for windows powerpoint though).

Thanks Connie,

Lower cost of living makes sense, context can sometimes be misinterpreted when only having the bullet points of a presentation to work through.

Thanks also for the contact info for the full Community 2.0 videos.

Unfortunately the whole 2.0 movement hasn't flowed through to any job openings in Australia as yet. Twitter has started to hit the media here now...so maybe business and government will start to catch on to Social Media before too long.

Cheers,

I mean that my cost of living is much lower here in northern Minnesota so I can receive a lower salary & be quite comfortable. The cost of living in San Francisco is 2.5 x more than here.

My salary is 20% less than a friend's in San Francisco BUT it's 40% higher than the career position I left at the library (which was a high professional salary in the local area). So I feel comfortably compensated.

The salary will be determined by the local rate (whether you work remotely or not). And if you work remotely I think that the home office visits should be considered a part of the salary. For example if the salary is $60 k annual and it costs $10 k per yr for home visits then your salary is $70 k. And the perk is you don't need to relocate. (You'll only be taxed on $60 k.)

Hi Connie,

I have a question regarding slide 12 of the presentation "Community Manager Role is Changing Corporate Communication"

Under the Remote Options heading you list lower salary / higher performance as a pro for an employer.

Is that a reference to the overall lower cost to an employer of a remote worker? Or can a remote worker expect a lower salary in the Community Manager space?

Are there full length session videos available of the Community 2.0 Keynotes?

Thanks,

Chris
