These are good tips that I’ve seen in other articles. I guess after 6 moths some of these tips won’t be applicable anymore especially with the ever changing algorithms of google. Micro blogging might help in SEO nowadays. Also, it’s sad plight for most newbie bloggers that popular bloggers or blogsite really don’t care about helping others and sharing their best practices. Most are consumed to be on the top spot! That’s just plain sad.

I hear you Ari. But I will contend that most bloggers (and I’m purposefully leaving ‘A-list’ off because defining that is hard) truly want to uplift others but it comes down to a matter of time. They are accessible for the most part though.

In my own case I have found myself not linking to others very often anymore due to lack of time. (I can barely get out 2 posts a week it seems). And I’m no where being an A-lister.

There are other things that you can do to build a presence but aren’t directly related to SEO: join in a group project like the AOC 2 book project that Drew McClellan and Gavin Heaton lead. Syndicate your blog at places like SocialMediaToday.com & MyVenturePad.com. This post is running there & has been viewed 150 times after only 5 hrs.

“Link to other blogs in your niche. As bloggers we all like to have backlinks. That builds our own SEO. And when you link to us, then we’ll come over, read your post, comment and then in the future link to you. This will increase your SEO and it creates a lot of happiness in the community at large.”

That usually happens, but not always. Especially with the so-called A-List bloggers whose blogs I comment on frequently and who I link to a lot, but I receive maybe 1% reciprocity. Goes to show link love, like any other love, is blind to those who either don’t see it or don’t care for it.
